Healthcare 101
The healthcare system is broken, and a lot is going on in Washington to fix it, or is it? According to what is happening now, we need to pay close attention to it. If things stay or change according to Congress (House and Senate) with what they propose now, we will be paying higher premiums until 2013 or 2014. That’s when all of this goes into effect. What happens in the meantime or even if it passes? Can we afford that? I know I can’t. Yes there will be coverage for all, but at a price. If you are below the poverty level you can get Medicaid, but what about people that are just barley above it by a few dollar’s (e.g. my husband and I)? We will have to pay higher premiums until 2013. That’s not right, what the heck, can we just all get healthcare without the government, insurance companies, pharmaceutical companies and hordes of people robbing us out of every dime? Did you know that we the taxpayers pay for the politicians’ great healthcare coverage? Did you know that the Republicans don’t want healthcare changed because they don’t want their wonderful healthcare shared by others? People we need to wake up and pay attention to what is happening with our government.

I'm afraid the chance for any meaningful health care reform was lost last August when the Republicans manufactured all those well publicized temper tantrums at the town hall meetings. But I've grown to expect no better of the Republicans.
ReplyDeleteThe Democrats had enough numbers to get a decent bill passed in spite of that but they lacked the moral courage.
Personally I'm not holding out any great hopes for 2013......
The Republicans version of health care reform is: Sew your wounds up with your own bootstraps.
Thank you CMN,
ReplyDeleteI concur. The Republicans are heartless. The Democrates are gutless (too worried about losing votes.)
The American people are afraid of change, and any part of socialism is a BAD THING, but they can't seem to understand that Entitlement Programs are Goverment ran, and about all of their parents receives it (but try to take their social security and medicare away, good luck with that. (guitarman said they are liable to bust a cap in your *!%) Go figure...
My sistah, I love what you are saying about the healthcare problem we have here. People do understand until they are in the hosptal or have to go how important healthcare is to have. I am very blessed I have good insurance and can cover my family but i look at if anything happen to my job how can i cover my family and myself. The government knows what to do but won't do it they want everything for themselves and don't want to share with others. I am very concerned this can affect me at any given time. It is already affecting the older people who have to have two coverages in order to survive and don't go into debt what do we do???
ReplyDeleteThank you my sista. I appreciate your feedback. The healthcare problem does affect us all more so than we realize, big business keep getting bigger, and the less fortunate, keep getting poor.
